Rare Waltham
Boston Watch Company Pocket Watch
Dennison, Howard & Davis S/N 4546

This watch is in superb condition. It runs well. The interplates glisten like mirrors. I acquired the watch for my research project, "Origins of the Waltham M57", because it was so photogenic. The dial has no hairlines (just a tiny pit mark inside the #4 numeral). Hands are not original (broken original hands are available). The full S/N 4546 is stamped on the underside of the top plate. Number 46 is stamped on the pillar plate. Number 6 is stamped under the hour and minute wheels. The silver OF case has no maker name, but a crown hallmark and number 8531. Although there does not appear to be an additional case screw mark on the case, its crystal is a little thick and its number is a little high for a case made in 1855-1857, the date of this movement. Case back is smooth with no dents. I am not familiar with the crown hallmark on the case.
