March in the Corner of the Room Program

New Hampshire Mirror Clock by Charlie Fairbrother

President's Report

Welcome to our Spring 2010 meeting. We hope it's even better than last January which was the best attended in years!

Membership js now increasing thanks to your support and bringing in new potential members as guests. As a "thanks" for your loyalty and keeping our chapter financially solid, we are having "membership appreciation" discounts for this meeting of "three bucks off" admission. Advance registration will be only $3.00 and late / walk-ins $5.00. Any interest in continuing this for the May meeting? For fairness to all we are keeping the table rentals the same exorbitant rates of $6 / 8 per table.

We regret to inform you that longtime member Hampar Janjigian passed away last January. We will miss him.

MARCH PROGRAM: Past director Charlie Fairbrother will give us a "show and tell" on the reproduction New Hampshire Mirror Clock he is building with a completed movement and case under construction. We all know Charlie as a very talented clock maker and he has shared his expertise with us at prior meetings. This should be a good one. As always we welcome your suggestions and are looking for ideas for future "Talks in the Corner", especially if you can host one.

COUNCIL OPENINGS: We still need a Chapter Secretary to replace Russ Fern's on the chapter governing council. Job duties are primarily handling the advance registration and working with our printer on the meeting announcements. Rich Pompeo and I are currently sharing this extra work for now and we need some relief. Please see one of us if you are interested.

Also, our bi-annual chapter elections are coming up in September. We can always use new talent so if you are interested please see me or any other council member. Remember, without volunteers, our chapter won't exist.

We plan to finalize the 2010-12 slate of officers and directors at the May meeting.

P.S. The coffee in the dining area next to the lobby is for registered hotel guests ONLY, not us.
